Newmont is the world’s second-largest producer of gold. On January 14, 2019, Newmont successfully arranged a merger acquisition of Goldcorp, the worlds fourth-largest producer of gold, with the merged Newmont Goldcorp to be the worlds largest producer once the transaction is complete.
