Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. is an American international corporation whose principal business is selling gases and chemicals for industrial uses. Air Products’ headquarters is in Allentown, Pennsylvania, in the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania, in the United States. Air Products is the Lehigh Valley’s third largest employer, after Lehigh Valley Hospital and St. Luke’s Hospital. Leonard P. Pool founded the company in 1940. Its French subsidiary, headquartered in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier, was the site of a terrorist attack on June 26, 2015.[3] Air Product’s current CEO and Chairman is Sefi Ghasemi. On September 17, 2015 Air Products announced its intent to spin off its Materials Technologies business.[4] This new stand alone company has been renamed Versum Materials.

The Chemours Company, commonly referred to as Chemours, is an American chemical company that was founded in July 2015 as a spin-off from DuPont. It has its corporate headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, United States. In October 2013, DuPont announced that it was planning to spin off its “performance chemicals” business into a new publicly traded company in mid-2015.[3] DuPont filed its initial Form 10 with the SEC in December 2014 and announced that the new company would be called “The Chemours Company”.[4] The spin-off to DuPont shareholders was completed on July 1, 2015, and Chemours’ stock began trading on the New York Stock Exchange on the same date.[5] Chemours has assumed various liabilities arising from lawsuits against DuPont.

Within 18 months of the merger the company was split into three publicly traded companies with focuses on the following: agriculture, materials science, and specialty products.[2][3][4] The agriculture division is named Corteva, the materials science spin-off is named Dow Inc., and the specialty products division is named DuPont.[5] Jeff Fettig is executive chairman of the company,[6] and Edward Breen is the CEO. The merger has been reported to be worth an estimated $130 billion.[2][3][4] With 2018 total revenue of $86 billion, DowDuPont ranked No. 35 on the 2019 Fortune 500 list of the largest United States public corporations.

Ecolab Inc., headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota, is an American global provider of water, hygiene and energy technologies and services to the food, energy, healthcare, industrial and hospitality markets.[3] It was founded as Ecological Laboratories in 1923 by Merritt J. Osborn, and renamed “Ecolab” in 1986.

The Mosaic Company is a Fortune 500 company based in Tampa, Florida which mines phosphate and potash, and is the largest U.S. producer of potash and phosphate fertilizer. The Mosaic Company was formed in October 2004 by a merger between IMC Global, a fertilizer company formed in 1909, and Cargill’s crop nutrition division. It is a combined producer and marketer of concentrated phosphate and potash with a customer base which includes wholesalers, retail dealers and individual growers worldwide. Its headquarters are in Plymouth, Minnesota and it employs approximately 12,000 people in eight countries. On October 26, 2018, Mosaic announced that it would be relocating their headquarters to Tampa, Florida.

Praxair, Inc. is an American worldwide industrial gases company. It was the largest industrial gases company in North and South America, and the third-largest worldwide by revenue. In 2018 it merged with Linde AG to form Linde plc.
