Alaska Air Group
Alaska Air Group is an airline holding company based in SeaTac, Washington. It owns two certificated airlines operating in the United States: Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air.[3] The Alaska Air Group also oversees an aircraft ground handling company, McGee Air Services, which is wholly owned by Alaska Airlines.
American Airlines Group
American Airlines Group Inc. is an American publicly traded airline holding company headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. It was formed December 9, 2013, in the merger of AMR Corporation, the parent company of American Airlines, and US Airways Group, the parent company of US Airways.[6] The airline groups together form the largest airline in the world, with more than 6,700 daily flights to 350 locations in 56 countries worldwide, about $40 billion in operating revenue, over 100,000 employees, and plans to take delivery of 607 new aircraft, including 517 narrowbody aircraft and 90 widebody international aircraft.[7] The integration of American Airlines and US Airways was completed when the Federal Aviation Administration granted a single operating certificate for both carriers on April 8, 2015.[8] The company ranked No. 71 in the 2018 Fortune 500 list of the largest United States corporations by total revenue.
Delta Air Lines
Delta Air Lines, Inc., typically referred to as Delta, is one of the major airlines of the United States and a legacy carrier. It is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.[9] The airline, along with its subsidiaries and regional affiliates, including Delta Connection, operates over 5,400 flights daily and serves 325 destinations in 52 countries on 6 continents.[10] Delta is a founding member of the SkyTeam airline alliance.[10] Delta has nine hubs, with Atlanta being its largest in terms of total passengers and number of departures.[10] It is ranked second among the world’s largest airlines by number of scheduled passengers carried, revenue passenger-kilometers flown, and fleet size. It is ranked 69th on the Fortune 500.
JetBlue Airways
JetBlue Airways Corporation, stylized as jetBlue, is a major American low cost airline, and the seventh largest in the United States by passengers carried. JetBlue Airways is headquartered in the Long Island City neighborhood of the New York City borough of Queens, with its main base at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). It also maintains corporate offices in Cottonwood Heights, Utah and Orlando, Florida. In 2019, it ranked #399 financially on the Fortune 500 list of the largest United States corporations by total revenue. JetBlue operates over 1,000 flights daily and serves 102 domestic and international network destinations in the U.S., Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and South America. JetBlue is not a member of any of the three major airline alliances, but it has codeshare agreements with 21 airlines, including member airlines of Oneworld, SkyTeam, Star Alliance, and unaffiliated airlines.
Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines Co. is a major American airline headquartered in Dallas, Texas, and is the world’s largest low-cost carrier. The airline was established on March 15, 1967 by Herb Kelleher as Air Southwest Co. and adopted its current name, Southwest Airlines Co., in 1971, when it began operating as an intrastate airline wholly within the state of Texas, first flying between Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.[2][3] The airline has more than 59,000 employees as of June 2019 and operates about 4,000 departures a day during peak travel season.[4][5] As of September 2019, Southwest carries the most domestic passengers of any United States airline.[6] The airline has scheduled services to 101 destinations in the United States and ten additional countries. Its most recent expansion occurred in March, April, and May 2019 with service to Honolulu, Maui, and Kailua-Kona respectively. Southwest’s next planned service expansion is to Lihue on November 10, 2019,[7] and Hilo in January 2020.
